8 Days Istanbul Urfa Nemrut Antep Tour

DAY 1: ISTANBUL
Welcome to Istanbul! You will be met at the airport by one of our team then transfer to your hotel, it will be your free time to do some local sightseeing and discover the town on your own. Overnight in Istanbul.
DAY 2: ISTANBUL- WALKING CITY TOUR ( B / L )
Breakfast at your hotel then we will pick you up from your hotel then enjoy a full day tour of Istanbul which will cover the main highlights in old city and the history which goes back thousands of years. Visit the Hagia Sophia, the pride and glory of the Byzantine architecture, an architectural master piece from centuries ago, the Blue Mosque, the Byzantine Hippodrome, where chariot races were once held, the Grand Bazaar, the world’s first largest covered bazaar with 4000 shops, and Topkapi Palace, the famous residence of the Sultans. The Harem section of Topkapi Palace is not included.
End of the tour, transfer you to your hotel and overnight in Istanbul.
DAY 3: ISTANBUL – URFA ( B )
Breakfast at your hotel, free time in Istanbul to do some local sightseeing or do some shopping in the typical markets of Istanbul then transfer to airport to take a flight to Sanliurfa which will take about 1 hour 45 minutes. Upon arrival, you will be met at the airport then transfer to your hotel and free time. Overnight in Urfa.
DAY 4: URFA ( B )
Breakfast at the hotel then we will start our day enjoying a tour of Urfa and a visit to the village of Harran with private vehicle and English speaking guide. Sanliurfa, it is known as Urfa in daily language, located in south-eastern Turkey, known as the city of Prophets. The history of Sanliurfa is recorded from the 4th century BC, but may date back to 9000 BC, when there is ample evidence for the surrounding site at Harran. Visit Harran, including the Ancient ruins of Harran University accepted as the first university in the World, Soil cone-roofed houses of Harran and the cave where Prophet Abraham was born, Fish pound and Old Town. Halilur Rahman Mosque, Urfa Castle, Rizvaniye Medresesi and historical inns in the area. Overnight in Urfa.
DAY 5: URFA ( B )
Breakfast at your hotel then we will depart from Urfa with our Private Guide and drive to Mount Nemrut, stopping along the way to visit the controversial Ataturk Dam on the Euphrates. The Ataturk Dam which is a zoned rock-fill dam with a central core on the Euphrates River on the border of Adiyaman Province and Sanliurfa Province in Southeastern Anatolia Region of Turkey. You will also visit Gobeklitepe. In view of the scholars the Gobeklitepe site is no less than 14 thousand years old, in other words it is 7500 years older than the Egyptian Pyramids. According to Schmidt it was once part of the fertile golden crescent but the misuse of mankind resulted in the loss of this heaven on earth. Then the inhabitants, 8000 years ago, buried all these carved stone columns under a pile of earth in a regular sequence. Then we will reach to Mount Nemrut , it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site where the Armenian king Antiochus ordered huge statues built in honor of himself and the gods. The massive stone heads on the hillside, all that remain of his once-magnificent tribute to Hercules, Zeus and others, have become one of the most recognized symbols of Eastern Turkey. End of the tour we will drive back to Urfa and overnight.
DAY 6: URFA – GAZIANTEP ( B )
Breakfast at your hotel then we will be driving about two hours from Urfa to Gaziantep, which is known as Antep too , it is a city in southeast Turkey and among the oldest continually inhabited cities in the world. You can taste delicious foods and baklavas in here, it is the home of Turkish Baklava. We will visit the Mosaic Museum of Gaziantep, which houses relics from the ancient city of Zeugma. Continue with a tour of the old city and castle district, historical Armenian houses, Kurtulus Mosque, Gregorian Church, coppersmiths’ market will be the main places we will be visiting in Gaziantep. Overnight in Gaziantep.
DAY 7: GAZIANTEP ( B )
Breakfast at your hotel then drive to Halfeti, in our Halfeti tour, we will see the villages submerged under the water and embark upon a boat ride on the Euphrates River, including a cruise around the Roman fortress of Rumkale, where St. John the Evangelist is said to have written his Gospel. Savasan Village that was chosen as the first Cittaslow in southeast Turkey and Rumkale are the other interesting places to be seen in our programme today. End of the tour drive back to Gaziantep and overnight.
DAY 8: GAZIANTEP ( B )
Breakfast at your hotel then it will be your free time for some shopping or more sightseeing in the town then transfer to airport and flight to Istanbul or we can extend your holiday to other Turkiye travel destinations.
