3 Days The Seven Churches of Revelation Tour
All seven churches of in the book of Revelations are in modern-day Turkey: Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia, Laodicea.
The Seven Churches Tour package will give you the opportunity to visit the sites of the seven churches of Revelation. The modern country of Turkey is home to all seven of the churches mentioned in the opening chapters of Revelation. The Book of Revelation is the last book in the New Testament. While the rest of the New Testament is made of narratives and instructional letters, Revelation is an apocalyptic work. It consists of visions, predicts future dramatic events, and uses a great deal of symbolic language. Interpretation of the Book of Revelation is a task that has kept biblical scholars busy for centuries.
Day 1: Ephesus and Laodicea ( B / L )
Visit to the old Greco-Roman city of Ephesus, most important of the Seven Churches of Asia Minor and one of the Seven Churches of Revelation. Visit to St. John Basilica and the last abode of Virgin Mary at Mount Solmissos where St. John brought Mary in fulfillment of his pledge to Jesus to protect her, she is believed to have been taken into heaven. After lunch, continue to Laodicea at the crossroads of the ancient world. Overnight stay in Pamukkale.
Day 2: Pamukkale-Sardis-Philadelphia-Thyatira ( B / L )
In the morning, we visit the ancient city of Hierapolis, home of Philip the Evangelist, also known as Philip the Deacon. We admire the the calcium terraces of Pamukkale and then proceed to Philadelphia. Philadelphia (Alasehir), the youngest of the "Seven Churches of Revelation", visiting the still standing remains of an early church and the city walls. We stop for lunch on the way. In the afternoon we visit the ancient city and ruins of the famous church of Sardis, the ancient Lydian capital. Later on our tour takes us to the remains of the church of Thyatira then drive to Pergamon where we overnight stay.
Day 3: Pergamon ( B / L )
Departure after breakfast for Pergamon (Bergama), the place where Satan's throne is situated according to St. John to who wrote this in a letter addressed to the church of Pergamon. Visit the Church of Pergamon, the red-court and the Acropolis. After lunch we drive to Izmir formerly known as Smyrna, a city which received a a letter from St Paul praising the early believers for their faithfulness. Visiting to St. Polycarp Church and a short tour of the city at the end of the tour, transfer to the Izmir Airport or we can extend your tour to other Turkey Travel Destinations.
